Picture of the cabinet!

Here is a picture of the liquor cabinet that is being raffled off:

It is even more beautiful in person!  It has deep shelves inside so really can be used for anything.  :)

Also, we have a small change to the women's basket!  Lisa's sister, Kathy, gave me some more items for it...so now it is the Vera Bradley purse & wallet, a woman's plush robe, and several products (bubble baths, hand creme, hand sanitizer, chapsticks, body spray).

Don't forget to let me know if you'd like tickets!  Drawing is on Saturday at the end of the outing!  :)

One week away! Raffle ticket items!

I've meant to get this post up for a few days but time has really been flying by!  We're one week away from the outing!  The t-shirts came in this week and look great!!!  We have several teams signed up to golf and sponsors signed up.  We can always use more sponsors so let us know this week if you want to help out!

Now we're ready to sell raffle tickets.  We will sell them all during the outing but if you'd like to buy some before, let us know.  You can mail a check or pay through the chip in link on the top right of this blog.  We will draw the winners at the end of the outing on Saturday.  Here are the 5 items:

***A handmade liquor cabinet (made from walnut & soft maple).  This was handmade by Pat Rentschler.  Pat has made amazing items for our outing each year!  He's delivering this cabinet tomorrow so I can get a picture of it up then.  It's a good size and really could be used for anything!

***A handmade children's size wooden picnic table.  This was handmade by Jacob Lantz.  He made one for my friend Lisa's bowling fundraiser and generously offered to make one for this too.  It is so cute!  Here's a couple pics of it:

***A Robbie Hummel autographed basketball donated by Terry & Tina Acree.  Boiler Up!  :)

***A men's basket which includes a small cooler, some golfing items and a $25 Home Depot giftcard.

***A women's basket which includes a Vera Bradley purse and wallet (donated by my Aunt Rita) and some bath and body works items.  Here's a pic of the purse and wallet:

Tickets cost:

1 ticket for $5
3 tickets for $10
7 tickets for $20

It's a bucket raffle so you can divide up your tickets however you choose.  :)  If you'd like to buy some before the outing, just let us know how many and which buckets you want your tickets to go in to.

See a lot of you on Saturday!  I am praying we have a day as nice as it was today!  No rain, please!  :)

More golf outing info!!!

Ok, here is the design for the t-shirts!
I'm so excited about them!  They are going to be the door prizes for each of the golfers, so if you signed up to golf or are going to sign up..please let us know what size you'd like.  We're also selling them for those that aren't golfing but would still like one.  I'm not totally sure on the final price yet, but it will be $18-20.  If you want one, please let us know the size you'd like asap.  We have to place our order for these soon!  We can also get kids' sizes.  All of the proceeds from the shirt sales are going into the outing fund and will be divided between the two families and Shepherd's Field.  :)

Also, I think we have our raffle items figured out...just need a few more things for a couple of them.  Here's what we have right now:

1. A beautiful wooden liquor cabinet--handmade by Pat Rentschler.  Pat made one of these for our first outing.  It was gorgeous!!!

2. A Robbie Hummel autographed mini basketball.  Boiler up! :)

3. A handmade children's wooden picnic table

4. A men's basket--We could use some items for this if anyone would like to donate something...let me know.

5. A woman's basket--We could use some items for this too if anyone is interested!  :)

We also have a couple teams already signed up and a couple sponsors have come in!  If you are interested in being any kind of sponsor, you can mail us a check or donate through the chip-in off to the side.  Also, if you want to golf, let us know!  We're hoping to have a couple more teams than we had last year.

Thanks everyone for your help!!!

3rd annual Drew's Crew Classic!!!

I can't believe it's been almost a year since I've updated this blog!  We've been home now with Mia for almost 5 months and life is crazy busy with two toddlers!  We're getting busier because it's almost time for our 3rd annual Drew's Crew Classic golf outing!  The outing will be on Saturday, August 18th at 1pm at Dykeman Park in Logansport.  I'm so excited because this year we are splitting the proceeds 3 ways!  We started this outing to help with some of our adoption expenses but we had always hoped to keep it going each year and then give to other families that are adopting and organizations.  This year we are giving the proceeds to two families that are in the process of adopting and to Shepherd's Field Children's Village (SFCV), the foster home in China where Mia lived since she was 3 months old.  Here's a bit about the two families our outing will be helping this year:

Lisa and Kirk live in Lafayette and are adopting a little one from China.  I've known Lisa for years and years!  We've been great friends since elementary school.  So I was thrilled when she told me she and Kirk were going to adopt from China!  They are finishing up their home study and should have their dossier sent to China soon!  Yay!  This will be their first child and I can't wait to see them as parents!  :)
Melissa and Jonathon live in Avon and are adopting a little girl from Russia.  Melissa went to our elementary and high school too and her brother was in the same class as Lisa and me.  Melissa and Jonathon have two biological sons and just went to Russia a few weeks ago to meet their daughter.  They will have to make two more trips to Russia before they can bring her home.  I can't wait to see her picture and see them finally bring their sweet daughter home!  :)
The third portion of the proceeds is going to SFCV, the amazing foster home where our Mia lived most of her life.  I really can't say enough good things about this place and the wonderful people we met there!  Mia has adjusted so well to our family and I know it's because of the great start she got there.  Here's their website if you'd like to know more about SFCV and what they do: http://www.chinaorphans.org/

Ok, so how can you help?  Well, you can come and golf!  :)  If you're not a golfer, you can be a sponsor.  We have 3 different levels of sponsorship.  We will also be having a raffle at the outing and I'll get all the info up about our items soon.  We need to get a couple more together, but so far we have some wonderful items!!!  Anyone can buy raffle tickets so I'll get that info out as soon as I can.  This year we also have something else fun to add...we're selling t-shirts!  :)  Each golfer will get a t-shirt as their door prize, but we wanted to make them available for others to buy also.  I should be getting the proof of what they'll look like this week so once I have that, I''ll get more info up about them.  I think they're going to look great and am so excited to be adding those this year!

Here is all of the info for golfing and sponsorship:
The outing is on Saturday, August 18th at Dykeman Golf Course in Logansport at 1 pm.  The cost for golfing is $50 per player or $200 per team.  This includes 18 holes of golf, a cart, a meal, non-alcoholic beverages and a t-shirt.  The format is a four man (or woman) scramble and it will be a shot-gun start.  There will be prizes for the teams that come in first and second place.  There are also prizes for longest drive and closest to the pin.  :)
Here are the 3 levels of sponsorship:
Golf cart sponsor--$25
Hole Sponsor--$50
Prize Sponsor--$100

If you're interested in golfing or being a sponsor, please let us know as soon as you can so we can get your info in the program.  Also, golfers need to let us know what size t-shirt you'd like.  I'll put more info up about t-shirts as soon as I get the proof and the cost.  We'll need to have the order for those in by July 25th (my bday!:)) so we can get them in time for the outing.  Also, I'll be posting raffle item and ticket info soon so be on the lookout for that!  :)  If you're interested in playing or sponsoring, you can email me at angie_sprad @ yahoo.com.  You can also click on the chipin button at the top here to pay online if you'd like to help out.  Any questions, feel free to ask!

Thank you all SO much for your help and support!  We're so excited for the outing this year and hoping for no rain that day!  :)

Less than a month!!!

Wow--we're down to less than a month until the golf outing!  Where has the summer gone???  We're thrilled that we've had a couple more cart sponsors, some hole sponsors, and two prize sponsors to add to our list!!  Thank you everyone who has signed up to sponsor a part of our outing!!!!  :)

We're still working on raffle items too.  So far we have: a Scentsy basket donated by my cousin Emily & her hubby Ryan, a super nice drill donated by good friends of ours (I don't know the first thing about drills but Jeff assures me that it is a very nice one!), and another handmade item by Pat R. (he made the incredible liquor cabinet last year!)  We would love to have a couple of more items so let me know if you have any ideas or would like to donate something.

Also, if you'd like to sponsor something you can click on the chip-in link on here or feel free to email or call us!

Oh and if you know any golfers, please send them our way!!!  We'd love to have a couple more teams sign up!

Thanks so much!!!

Some pictures

Here are a few pictures from last year's outing!

Our hole sponsor signs:

Drew came for a little bit!

Our raffle ticket sellers!

Grilling Grandpas!

We had a lot of fun last year, even with the little bit of rain falling throughout the morning.  This year's start is a little bit later, 1 p.m.  If we have it in the afternoon we can have a shotgun start where teams can start on different holes.  That will help everyone get finished at about the same time.

So far, we have four teams "officially" signed up and we have two prize sponsors, two hole sponsors and two golfcart sponsors.  For more information about sponsors, see the post below.  Please let us know if you're interested in helping in any way, we can sure use it! :)

And for any of you who haven't seen her yet, here are a couple pictures of our littlest one waiting for us in China.  We're going to name her Mia Ann Ling.  We're close to sending all of our paperwork over there and hopefully we'll be traveling in a few short months!  We can't wait to meet her and welcome her to our family!!!
With birthday cake on her sweet face:

Here she is with a toy we sent in a care package:

Making silly faces:

Here's a couple recent ones of Drew for those of you who haven't seen him in a while:

Hope everyone has a happy and safe 4th of July!  I'll post some more updates soon for the golf outing.  We're still in need of some donations for the raffle too, so let me know if you're interested in that.  Hopefully I'll be putting those up here soon too!  :)
